TNS Sifo Prospera Names Ellex Top Law Firm in the Baltic Region for Second Consecutive Year

On April 25, the leading international research company, TNS Sifo Prospera, released the results of its 2017 legal market research for the Baltic region. For the second year running, the Ellex circle of firms topped the rankings, emerging as the clear market leader for sophisticated clients looking for top-level legal services.

The in-depth research included interviews with 304 Baltic-based organisations and ranked law firms across a broad range of selection criteria based on client expectations: lawyer skills, quality of advice, project staffing, integrity and ethics, and personalised contact. Ellex maintained its position as the number one firm overall, while receiving the highest scores in client feedback for 2017. In addition, the Ellex circle of firms topped the survey in the M&A, Banking and Finance, Competition & EU, Intellectual Property, Energy and Government Relations areas. Overall, Ellex also achieved the highest rankings across a number of selection criteria, including strong reputation, lawyer skills, large project management, and ethics.

Compared to the 2016 research, three areas have risen in importance for clients, including firms’ “ability to handle large scale projects”, “quality across the Baltic region” and “international competence”. This is further evidence of the Baltics region emerging as an attractive investment destination with a transparent business environment and top-tier legal services.

“We are grateful to our clients and other Baltic companies that have ranked us in this top position. The recognition of Ellex encourages us to seek even better solutions for our clients’ problems both locally and internationally. Throughout the years our goal has been to ensure top quality services in the Baltic States. We have strengthened our teams of partners in all our law firms in the Baltic States: the team in Lithuania was supplemented by 4 new partners, in Estonia by 2 partners, and in Latvia – Ellex Klavins and Glimstedt & Partners in Latvia have merged and added 4 new partners to the team. We are now a team of more than 270 people across the Baltics and our biggest challenge is to keep up to the expectations and hold the top quality across the region,” states Rolandas Valiūnas, Baltic Chairman of Ellex.
